Parts For Panamera 4S Diesel V8 4.0L 4WD (422 Hp)

About Panamera 4S Diesel V8 4.0L 4WD (422 Hp)

In the 971.1 Panamera 4S Diesel, a robust 4.0ltr V8 engine delivers potent performance, boasting 310 kW/422 hp and a maximum torque of 850 Nm. Catering to the preferences of our European enthusiasts, Porsche crafted this vehicle to offer a blend of power, all-wheel-drive security, and diesel efficiency, making it an ideal choice for cross-continental cruising.

Equipped with a twin-turbo V8 unit, the 971.1 Panamera 4S Diesel stands out as one of the most powerful diesel cars available. Its 422 hp output is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, channeling power to all four wheels. This marks the first implementation of an eight-cylinder diesel engine, combined with permanent all-wheel drive, in a Porsche production car. With a top speed of 285 km/h, the Porsche Panamera 4S Diesel holds the title as the world's fastest production vehicle with a diesel engine. Accelerating to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds (or 4.3 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package), it achieves this impressive performance while maintaining a combined fuel consumption of 6.8 – 6.7 l/100 km (178 – 176 g/km CO2).

The diesel model features biturbo charging with a central turbo layout. Enhanced by a common rail engine with a maximum injection pressure of 2,500 bar, it utilizes sequential turbocharging. This innovative design enables the engine to operate as either a biturbo or monoturbo, depending on the driving conditions. At lower engine speeds, exhaust gas is directed through one turbocharger for improved throttle response, while the second turbocharger remains inactive until engine speed exceeds 2,700 rpm. Both turbochargers incorporate variable turbine geometry (VTG), a technology borrowed from the 911 Turbo, further enhancing performance and efficiency.
